About Architect Asela Perera
Asela had the opportunity to attend the prestigious University of England to complete his BA (hons) in Architecture and thereafter qualified in RIBA (Part 1). Returning to Sri Lanka, he worked with many visionary architects on numerous projects around the Island. As an Architect, he has completed over 200 projects which range from residential to commercial properties. After 5 years of experience in his field along with his Degree in Architecture, he was awarded the qualification of being an Architectural Licentiate by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architecture.

Asela’s speciality is Environmental Design, with an emphasis of Vernacular Styles using indigenous building systems, materials and period style restoration. His designs incorporate rain water harvesting, the use of solar power and allows natural ventilation since his focus and need for environmental sustainability and ecological balance is paramount.

Asela is the proud owner and architect of The Southern Gate boutique hotel which is located in Ahangama.
